Sauber F1 will not be running their 2016 car at the first test in Barcelona next month. The team have said they will be running a modified version of their current 2015 car from the 22nd-25th of February. They hope to reveal their 2016 car, the C35, at the second of the pre-season test taking place from the 1st-4th of March.
The number of pre-season tests has been cut from three tests to two as a measurement to cut costs. This means the Sauber team have just four days of testing with their new car before the season opener in Australia. The team have already confirmed they are sticking with their driver line up of Swede Marcus Ericsson and Brazilian Felipe Nasr.
Other teams have begun to announce when they plan to launch their cars too. New team Haas have announced they will break covers on the 21st of February. While McLaren have confirmed they will be unveiling their car, the MP4-31, on the same date as well.
Williams have announced they will be launching their car, the FW38, in the pit lane on the morning of the first test in Barcelona. The rest of the teams are yet to announce their dates for unveiling their cars. Though speculation is Ferrari will unveil their car on the 18th or 19th of February.
