HHC Motorsport have announced they won’t be part of the 2016 Ginetta GT4 Supercup grid, instead focusing on their efforts in other junior formulae.
HHC’s debut season in 2014 got the team onto an impressive start, winning the driver’s title with Charlie Robertson. Last year’s season saw their drivers finish second, third, and fifth overall, and the team championship.
For now, the team isn’t going to try and replicate its debut season success. At least, not in GT4. Instead, the team will be focusing on its cars in the Ginetta Junior Championship and the BRDC Formula 4. The team has had title success in both formulae in the past.
“We’ve decided not to run any cars in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup this year,” team boss Charlie Kemp told Motorsport News.
“Instead, we want to really focus on Ginetta Juniors and BRDC Formula 4, and do a better job of getting good drivers in from the junior series.
“With the new car in BRDC F4, we want to put a lot more resources into that, as well as run four or five cars in Ginetta Juniors.”
So far, HHC have only confirmed Will Tregurtha as a Ginetta Junior driver. Lewis Brown and Charlie Fagg are expected to join him.
