Team Aguri confirms Salvador Duran

Salvador Duran has been officially confirmed by Team Aguri. Duran will be replacing Nathanael Berthon for the remainder of the season starting at the Buenos Aires ePrix.

Duran raced with Team Aguri in the first season of Formula E completing all but the first round and scored 13 points for the team. Many thought he would return to the team in season 2 but would sign on with the now defunct Trulli team.

Since the Trulli team’s demise the 30 year old has been without a drive hoping to be in a seat before the inaugural Mexico City ePrix.

“This is a very ambitious team with some of the best engineering and technical knowledge in Formula E, and I look forward to being part of an already successful season. I’m particularly looking forward to my home race in Mexico in March. The atmosphere will be amazing and I can’t wait to put on a good show for all my compatriots.”

Duran being apart of Aguri for season 1 made the move almost easy. With the Mexicans home race coming, this could have added to the reasons with the possibility of more sponsorship.
