James Cole completes the line up for Subaru UK manufacturer team, Team BMR. Cole will be driving alongside Colin Turkington, Jason Plato, and Team Principal Warren Scott.
Cole makes the switch from Motorbase Performance for his fourth season in BTCC.
“It’s great to welcome James to the team and I look forward to seeing how well he does in the Subaru Levorg,” said Scott. “He has lots of experience to bring to the BMR team and I believe this is the right time and place for him to showcase his ability.”
That experience comes in the form of a British Formula Ford title in 2009, experience in British Formula 3, and FIA Formula 2, as well as the three years in BTCC.
Last season saw Cole finish 19th in the championship with seven points finishes.
“I’ve still got loads to learn in the BTCC and I couldn’t be in a better place to that that alongside Carl and Kevin, my engineer Richard Owen, and two of the best BTCC drivers, Jason and Colin,” Cole said. “My previous successes came in rear wheel drive so I believe a big step forward can be made this year. I would also like to thank Warren for this great opportunity. I intend to make the most of it.”
The Subaru Levorgs Cole and the rest of the team will be racing will be revealed at the season launch in March.
