Price to remain with Team Pyro

Race winner Josh Price will continue with Team Pyro for his second full season in the Renault UK Clio Cup.

The teenager, who is backed by the BMR Academy, is aiming to follow in Ashley Sutton’s footsteps and progress to the British Touring Car Championship.

Price finished sixth in the standings last season, taking six podium finishes and a single win. The team is confident he’ll be a championship contender this year.

“Josh really became one of the top drivers in the UK Clio Cup during 2016, so we’ve very excited to have retained him for this year when we will be going all out to recapture the crown we last won with Ashley Sutton in 2015,” said team principal Mark Hunt.

Price has already started testing for the 2017 season, which begins at the start of next month, and is confident he’ll be in the fight for the crown.

“Towards the end of 2016, I found great form on track and the points began racking up so quickly,” said Price. “I’ve now improved even more and with the pre-season testing programme proving a great success, I know I will be in the title fight. I just want to get going now!”

Price will be joined by Clio Cup new comer Jack McCarthy and former Cicely Motorsport driver Ollie Pidgley at the team.
