Subaru’s James Cole is confident top results will come his way after moving aside for team-mate Ashley Sutton at Knockhill.
Cole took three fifth places at the Scottish track, but was running fourth in the final race when he let championship contender Sutton past on the final lap.
“I think it’s clear on the last corner it was the team’s decision to let Ash pass to get maximum points for his championship thing,” he told Overtake Motorsport.
“So emotionally it’s a fourth but I’ll take fifth because I know the time will come and I’ll be able to get better results again.
“Overall, I’m really happy and looking forward to Rockingham.”
Cole is confident he’ll be able to use the momentum from his best ever weekend in the British Touring Car Championship for strong results at Rockingham next weekend.
“Three top fives is always good,” he said. “You can’t be disappointed with that.
“We seem to love fifth at the moment: it’s our fourth in a row.
“The momentum I used from Snetterton has brought us here, so hopefully we can just keep on rolling.”
Cole took his first point of the season in the opening race at Snetterton, and hasn’t been out of the points since. He’s currently 18th in the championship with 53 points, more than he has scored in any season since joining the BTCC.
