Williams Formula One young driver Oliver Rowland will share testing duties with Dan Ticktum as Nicholas Latifi recovers from an infection that ruled him out of testing duties with Force India in Barcelona pre-season testing last week.
Dan Ticktum will step up to Formula 2 for the first time in this testing role as the former Macau GP winner and McLaren Autosport BRDC Award winner will share testing duties with Oliver Rowland over the course of two days.
The pair bring valuable experience to the test with Ticktum competing for DAMS in the final three rounds of the 2017 GP3 championship, bringing home a third place in the Abu Dhabi final. Whilst Oliver Rowland competed in the DAMS Squad throughout the 2017 Formula 2 championship finishing third in the standings behind new Sauber Alfa-Romeo driver Charles Leclerc and Renault Development driver Artem Markelov.
Rowland won two feature races in 2017 and had a third place stripped from him due to an excessively worn skid block in Abu Dhabi, He will drive on the first day of the two day test.
Alexander Albon will drive the 2018 DAMS Car for the remainder of the test.
DAMS is yet to confirm their driver lineup for 2018 but it is widely speculated that Latifi who finished 5th in the standings in 2017 is expected to take the first seat, With Albon transferring from ART to make room for Russell and Aitken.
The teams will get their first taste of official pre-season testing at Paul Ricard ahead of the Season starting in Bahrain.
The teams previously got a chance to shake down the new turbo charged Formula 2 at Magny Cours earlier in the year but running was hampered due to snow.
