MP Motorsport have announced that Ralph Boschung will drive for the dutch outfit in the 2018 season of FIA Formula 2.
This will be Ralphs second season in Formula 2 after a promising debut season last year, This comes after he impressed MP Motorsport during the post-season test in Abu Dhabi 2017.
Boschung stated: “I’m really happy to be joining MP Motorsport for my second season in Formula 2, We cooperated very well during our day together at Yas Marina, and this gave me the confidence that we can do well in 2018. With the new car, it’s a level playing field for everyone, and MP has the staff to get the most out of a new chassis. It will be an amazing season.”
It’s great that Ralph will be part of our Formula 2 team for 2018”, said Sander Dorsman, MP Motorsport’s team manager. “He has shown good speed in his first season in F2, and I’m certain that we can convert his speed into more solid results.”
Boschung scored 11 points in the 2017 season of Formula 2 with 7th place in Austria being his highest result, Before F2 the Swiss driver drove in GP3 from 2015 to 2016 with Austria again being his highest result. Before that he took 14 podium finishes and a single win in the German based ADAC Formula Masters, Showing the potential that he will bring to MP Motorsport with his new contract.
Pre-Season testing gets underway at Paul Ricard in the next few weeks and it is currently unknown what days Boschung will complete.
