KTM and Tech 3 have announced that from 2019 they will join forces to run a KTM chassis in the Moto2 class, mirroring the MotoGP class.
The news was announced today in Jerez, that the KTM chassis will gain another two riders, thus retiring the Guy Coulon designed Mistral 610. The riders have not yet been announced, however we do know it will mirror the MotoGP class, with Tech 3 moving from Yamaha. We also know one rider who will no longer be on the Moto2 KTM is Miguel Olivera, having announced today he will sign for Tech 3.
This will obviously create a natural progression, as both Tech 3 and Red Bull KTM will look to move riders to the MotoGP class from Moto2 with Herve Poncharal’s team, before then moving to the full Factory team if the performances are of a high enough level. So now KTM will be THE team to be on, from Moto3 to MotoGP the path is clear if you are good enough. The onus now is on Remy Gardner and Bo Bendsneyder to prove they merit a place on the now very desirable team.
