Valterri Bottas has snatched pole position for the British Grand Prix.

Ferrari appeared to have the fastest car in the first two qualifying sessions but both Mercedes upped their game when it came to Q3.

Bottas took pole ahead of Hamilton but only by 0.06s. Charles Leclerc was third fastest and he only missed on pole position by 0.079s.

The Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly were fourth and fifth fastest. Gasly has put on an improved showing so far this weekend after the team instructed him to use Verstappen’s set up going forward.
