Double champion, Johan Kristoffersson, returns to the FIA World Rallycross Championship after a year away.
Kristoffersson left the championship after taking his second title in a dominant 2018 season where he won 11 of the 12 rounds. His focus in 2019 was in rally and WTCR but he returns for the 2020 World RX season in a Volkswagen Dealerteam BAUHAUS Polo GTI RX.
“It has been a hectic period and not the easiest path to go along. There have been many alternatives, but right now I feel really satisfied. Rallycross is very close to my heart. All our energy and focus is now on World RX,” Kristoffersson said.
The family team will be run by father, Tommy Kristoffersson, who has one goal in mind.
“We will be there aiming to win, but anyone involved in this business knows it’s not that easy. After all, we’re a private team the resources are limited, not even close to 2017 and 2018,” said Tommy.
Volkswagen Dealerteam BAUHAUS will not be the only family run team on the grid with the 2019 teams’ champions, Team Hansen returning.
Team Hansen will see brothers Timmy and Kevin return to the grid in the Peugeot 208 WRXs, with reigning drivers champion Timmy looking to defend his title in the team run by parents Kenneth and Susann Hansen.
