Simpson looking forward to learning from Dynamics

Matt Simpson is looking forward to learning from his new teammates, Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden.

The 35-year-old joined Team Dynamics for his second season in the British Touring Car Championship, and he expects to move forward now in the larder team.

“Last year was a learning year for us, but it’s nice to be in the same car,” Simpson said. “My teammates’ in the same car. I will learn a lot more. Obviously, it’s the same car, same wheelbase, same everything so I know we’ll definitely move forward this year. I’m really looking forward to working with Matt and Gordon as well.”

Simpson spent 2016 Speedworks, but had a close relationship with the team, even in his debut year.

They were really helpful: any problems we had and we got some parts from them to maintain the car as well. So they’ve always been really, really good. Matt’s always been good with me as well. On a Saturday, he’d come and see me, making sure I’m ok.”

Though Simpson will run under the “Simpson Racing” banner, he will be fully involved with Team Dynamics, and will benefit from the same engineers as Neal and Shedden, sharing data with the two more experienced drivers, and completing track walks with the team.

“We’re just so pleased to be on board with them. They’ve made us so welcome. I just can’t wait to start the season now.”

Simpson will begin testing in February.
