KCMG’s Oreca 05
Hong Kong based KCMG, this year’s LMP2 Class winners at Le Mans and runner up in the LMP2 World Championshiphas has announced that they will not be participating in the World Endurance Championship in 2016. However, they will likely pursue a defense of their Le Mans win.
KCMG were the first to run the Orea 05 chassis and rather successfully at that. However the way the incident at Fuji involving G-Drive Racing and KCMG cost the team the title. Additionally, the way the WEC Stewarts handled the incident seem to have soured team owner Paul Ip’s view on the WEC.
However, a GTE-Am effort with a 911 RSR may still be possible.
