Price after the championship in first full season

Josh Price has signed with Team Pyro for his first full season in Renault UK Clio Cup and believes the championship is possible.

Josh Price will return to the Renault UK Clio Cup to complete his first full season in the championship, after signing for a seat with reigning champion team, Team Pyro.

Price took part in the Rockingham, Silverstone, and the finale at Brands Hatch in 2015, with a fourth place the highlight of his results but an impressive pace throughout all three rounds making him look promising for the upcoming season.

With some additional testing, the 17 year old hopes to at least go one up and make it to the podium.

“Rockingham was my first ever car race, but even by Silverstone I was up there fighting near the front with drivers who’d already had three years in cars,” said Price. “I’ve still got to learn the other circuits on the calendar, but I’d be silly not to be thinking of going for the title in 2016.”

Price believes he has everything he needs to do well in the championship, with a seat at the “right team” and the “right people” around him.

“I also feel confident in my own technical ability after everything I learnt in those three events last year.”

Team Pyro have already announced Mike Bushell, the 2014 champion, as part of their line up.

“Josh is a very exciting driver for the future with natural pace and aggression,” said Pyro Team Principal Mark Hunt. “He and Mike are doubtless going to push one another on occasion and even before we announce our other drivers I believe already we have two extremely strong team mates going into this season.”
