Ahead of the Paris ePrix, Bethonie Waring spoke to Audi ABT’s Daniel Abt.
BW: Do you see your role on the team as a second driver helping Lucas now, or are you still focusing on your own championship?
DA: I’m absolutely focused on myself. There’s no need for me to help him. He’s doing well. He has his own job to do and I have mine.
BW: Do you think that you’ll be able to improve the car for next season to match e.dams?
DA: That’s the plan obviously. I think we know where we can improve. E.dams has Renault so they have a lot of macho behind them. They spend a lot of money. But I think for what we did this year we’ve been quite good. But we have to make a step.
BW: Luck hasn’t really been on your side so far this season, do you think you’ll be able to turn it around in Europe?
DA: Well, it seems to be changing already. Last time I was a bit lucky with some things. I always hope bad luck goes away. I think we’re in a good position now and should have good races.
