No fourth car for Team HARD

There will be no fourth car for Team HARD next season. The team had planned to extend their fleet for the 2017 campaign, but were unable to get the license to do so.

The team had planned to make an announcement earlier this week, following the confirmation that Mike Epps will be staying at the team.

Team manager Tony Gilham explained on Facebook:

“We had agreed a deal to purchase a fourth car and tbl [TOCA BTCC licence] but unfortunately TOCA would prefer teams of no more than three cars, as that is in effect 10 percent of the allocation of tbls anyway, which we understand.”

The decision means the team had to put off making anymore announcements.

It’s a blow to Team HARD fans, but also poses the question as to whether BMR will be keeping their four car line up. The team ran four cars in 2015 and 2016. No news has come from the team on their 2017 plans so far.
