Morgan aiming higher as WIX continue backing

Adam Morgan will once again have WIX Filters backing going into the 2017 British Touring Car Championship. The company has committed to a fourth consecutive season supporting Ciceley Motorsport’s BTCC team.

The sponsorship will be valuable for the independent team, as the team is “wholly dependent” on sponsors.

Morgan will be starting his sixth season in the championship in April, and this season he’s aiming high.

“I am getting a bit fed up with third place,” said Morgan. “The target this season has to be to go into the final rounds at Brands Hatch with a shot at the Independents’ crown.”

The Blackburn based driver took two overall race wins and five podium finishes, but he averaged outside the top ten in 2016. He believes consistency will be key to his 2017 campaign.

“I really feel like we are ready to take a step forward,” he said. “We have a great team behind us, with WIX staying on board and my engineer Marco Calovolo with us again in 2017.”

Norman Burgess, Ciceley Motorsport’s Commercial Director, is also happy to have WIX on board once again.

“We know how each other work and exactly what each other expects from this mutually beneficial relationship,” he said. “WIX continues to be instrumental in the promotion of both the team’s and Adam’s brand.”

Testing begins at the end of February as the team gets used to the new tyres that will be introduced next season. One thing the team won’t have to get used to will be the car, as Ciceley will continue to run the Mercedes A Class.
