Jordan looking forward to rear wheel challenge

West Surrey Racing’s new recruit, Andrew Jordan, is looking forward to the challenge of racing a rear wheel drive car in 2017.

Jordan will make the switch to WSR’s BMWs this season, after racing in Motorbase Performance’s Ford Focus last season. The 27-year-old believes the biggest challenge will be getting used to the new car, but has already begun testing in preparation for his tenth year in the BTCC.

“The hardest bit will be remembering not to, when you’ve just been tapped, bury the throttle to pull you straight,” Jordan said. “I’ve had a few tests in it and it went really well with the car and I really enjoyed driving it.

“I really, really enjoy driving it and getting my head around a different technique. At the end of the day, I’ve driven other rear wheel drive things, normally just with a little less grip than a touring car, but I’m up for the fight and looking forward to it.”

Whilst Jordan might not have much experience with rear wheel drive in the BTCC, West Surrey Racing have plenty. 2017 will be the 11th consecutive year running the BMW in the series, which should help Jordan this season.
