Goff switches to Eurotech

Jack Goff will join Eurotech for his fifth season in the British Touring Car Championship.

After two podiums last season and a win the year before, the High Wycombe driver was the driver of choice for Eurotech.

He will partner team boss Jeff Smith this season.

“We have been in talks with many drivers over the winter which has been a long process, but we wanted to get it right,” Smith said. “Our aim was always to put a talented young gun in to the second seat, which we have undoubtedly managed to achieve with Jack.”

Smith said the 25-year-old impressed the team with his “performance and professionalism”, and he has high aims for his new recruit.

“[We] are confident that Jack’s race craft combined with our Type R will be a force to be reckoned with,” Smith said. “We know our cars are capable of winning the Championship and with Jack’s proven ability we are confident this is an achievable goal.

“We have a comprehensive pre-season testing programme in place and will hit the ground running, from the first round at Brands Hatch – we intend to be on the podium.”

Goff expects to be able to fight for the championship with Eurotech.

“It is already very clear they have all the personnel and resources to give me a great chance to be fighting for championship honours in 2017,” he said.

“The car is a proven winner, with Gordon having won the past two championships and the Swindon.”

Goff makes the move from West Surrey Racing, having finished 11th in the championship.
