Orrock switches to Team Pyro

Lucas Orrock will join Team Pyro for the remainder of the Renault UK Clio Cup season.

The 26 year old will make the switch from JamSport Racing, where he raced for the first four events.

“I’m parting on good terms with JamSport, and wish to thank them for everything to date, but now I see this as a totally fresh start heading to the next rounds at Croft,” he said.

It has been an eventful start to the season for Orrock. The rookie made his Clio Cup race debut in Ant Whorton-Eales championship winning car from 2016 after damaging his own Clio in testing.

He has taken three retirements from eight races, and was unable to start a fourth. Orrock has taken four points finishers, though, and lies 18th in the standings.

Now he’s hoping to continue to develop with Pyro and break into the top 10 for the first time.

“Pyro obviously have won many titles before and are currently performing at the front with them, and Mike Bushell leading the drivers’ and teams’ standings so who better to learn from?

“All I want is progress and, for me, progress at Croft would be getting inside the top 10 for the first time and feeling like we are getting somewhere.”
