Buemi excluded from first Berlin ePrix

Sebastien Buemi has been excluded from the first race of the Berlin ePrix double header.

All four tyres on both Buemi’s car were found to be under the minimum tyre pressure in post race scrutineering.

A poor qualifying put Buemi on the back foot going into the race. Starting from 14th, he managed to fight his way through to sixth, and was later promoted to fifth as Jean-Eric Vergne was handed a five second penalty.

The 10 points awarded to him for the achievement have been taken away. His advantage to Lucas Di Grassi in the drivers’ championship is now only 22 points. With Buemi set to miss both New York ePrix, it’s a worrying position for the championship leader.

Both the team and Buemi will now turn their focus to tomorrow’s race, and not making the same mistakes as today.
