A strong weekend at Rockingham has given Ginetta Junior Championship leader Tom Gamble confidence in new team Elite Motorsport.
Gamble spent the majority of the season with JHR Developments, but was forced to switch teams after JHR was suspended from Ginetta championships.
In his first weekend with Elite, Gamble took a third, second, and a win, putting him in the championship lead with two rounds remaining.
“I was a bit unsure about how it would go with Elite,” he told Overtake Motorsport. “But it’s gone mega this weekend. I can’t thank them enough for all the hard work they’ve put in.”
Gamble is only seven points ahead of former team-mate Sebastian Priaulx. He knows keeping the lead over the next two rounds won’t be easy.
“It’s always all to play for in juniors,” he said. “We just have to salvage the best results we can throughout the thing and not take too many risks. Just bring it home every race.
“We’ve led championships before and we’ve just got to do the best we can really. Just try to win as many races as we can, get as many podiums, and we’ll see how it pans out.”
