Rory Butcher took pole at Oulton Park from Josh Cook in a tight session where anyone of five drivers could’ve taken pole.

Throughout the session Butcher, Cook, Colin Turkington, Tom Oliphant and Ash Sutton all found themselves on provisional pole, with only Sutton falling away after receiving a black flag.

Butcher’s 1:25.734 was unmatched with only Cook, Turkington and Matt Neal also dropping into the 1:25s.

Approaching his 700th race in the BTCC, Neal had his most competitive qualifying session of the year, finishing the session in fourth.

Neal’s Dynamics team mate Dan Cammish qualified fifth with Jake Hill in sixth just 0.020s behind Cammish.

Tom Chilton and Oliphant finished within 0.002s of each other in seventh and eighth respectively.

Adam Morgan and Chris Smiley rounded out the top 10 in ninth and tenth.

The black-flagged Sutton finished the session 11th, despite having having multiple lap times deleted for track limits violations.

The Power Maxed Racing team have returned with Mike Bushell this weekend who qualified 12th after topping FP1 this morning.

Michael Crees finished the session in 13th, Senna Proctor 14th with Tom Ingram, after colliding with Ollie Brown mid-session, 15th.
