Formula Regional vice-champion, Arthur Leclerc, makes his next move with Prema Racing to compete inside the FIA F3 championship in 2021.
The Monegasque racing driver has proved an impressive six wins and nine podiums in total to end the season. He showed a real potential to bring another successful season ahead with Prema as he continued to stay for his second year with them.
“I am really happy to announce that I will step up to FIA F3 with Prema Racing next year. I have quite a bit of experience with the team as it will be my second year with them, and we established a special relationship.” Quoted from Arthur Leclerc in his terms to fill into the seat as their driver lineups.
“It will be a completely new challenge for me, a lot more drivers on the grid and a weekend format that looks really exciting! I can’t wait to start the season.”
Encouraged by his FIA F3 decent pre-season test results in both Jerez and Barcelona sessions, he made it to the Italian team’s shortlisted drivers. The nineteen-year-old driver managed to put himself up to qualified 2nd fastest on the first day of the pre-season test in Jerez amongst 29 other drivers. The team best-liked him by the visions of his skills and adaptability level that the driver has.
The decision for Arthur Leclerc to replace Oscar Piastri’s role in the FIA F3 championship as Prema Racing driver approved one of the team’s mission to promote Formula Regional driver into a higher series. The view coming from the partnership delights the team’s target and aims to collect more achievements into their name as an honorable competitor.
