Matteo Nannini took his first win after beating pole-sitter Enzo Fittipaldi in a tight battle at the Hungaroring circuit.

The Italian driver started the race in P3 behind Hitech’s Roman Stanek, but he quickly worked his way out to surpass the Czech driver.

He pulled out a brave move to snatch the lead from Fittipaldi on lap 4, maintaining the lead for the next 18 laps from the race.

In today’s second sprint race, the three drivers who took the podium have just collected their first-ever F3 victory.

Enzo Fittipaldi was joined by ART’s Roman Stanek up in front, taking their maiden podiums of the season after they finished in second and third fastest, respectively.

As it happened, Oliver Rasmussen and Olli Caldwell were under investigation for causing a collision. The pair made it out of the pits to keep the race alive in the back of the grid before another incident emerged between Campos Racing’s Amaury Cordeel and Carlin’s Ido Cohen as they were forced to pit.

Alexander Smolyar finished the race in fourth fastest for ART Grand Prix with the current championship leader Dennis Hauger who fought his way through.

Hauger made a few attempts in passing the two Trident drivers, David Schumacher and Jack Doohan, in a battle to fifth.

Schumacher passed his teammate on lap 16 as Doohan lost his grip in holding into the fifth place and dropped down to P13.

The PREMA Racing driver made it past Schumacher to secure his position in fifth for the second time today.

David Schumacher was sixth fastest for Trident, with Campos Racing’s Lorenzo Colombo in seventh after he got demoted from the first place because of the penalty given to him after winning Race 1.

Clement Novalak ended the race in eight as the last Trident’s driver to finish inside the top 10, joined by Charouz Racing’s Logan Sargeant and the unexpected winner from today’s race, Ayumu Iwasa, in tenth fastest for Hitech.

Arthur Leclerc will be starting the race from pole position for the first time with the rest of the grid from Friday’s qualifying session.

The last race of the Hungarian Grand Prix will begin at 10.55 local times in Hungary.
