Red flags, World Championship, and an Epic Finale.

Here we are- the final showdown between Remy Gardner and Raul Fernandez. The odds are against Fernandez, but never say never in Moto2.

As the lights go out, Simone Corsi gets away well, as well as Raul Fernandez.

Three riders crash out mid-track and are fortunate not to get hit. It was Marco Bezzecchi, Vierge and Baldassarri. While the crash does not seem bad, it was enough to red flag the race for an oil spillage. While the crash happened on lap 1, the race will restart and only last for 16 laps, but the riders will start based on their original grid positions.

The race restarts, and Augusto Fernandez is in the lead, followed by Raul Fernandez and Fabio DiGiannantonio. Simone Corsie, our Poleman, was unable to join the restart because his bike was not electronically ready.

Despite the fact that he is battling for the world championship, R. Fernandez and A. Fernandez are battling it out for 1st place. As they turn to begin the 4th lap of the race, R. Fernandez is able to take the lead.

A. Fernandez is preoccupied with DiGiannantonio, who also overtakes R. Fernandez. A. Fernandez barely has time to react as Aaron Canet sticks to the back of his bike.

Meanwhile, Remy Gardner is down in 10th place. If Raul Fernandez wants to win the Word Championship, then he needs to win the race and Gardner needs to finish in 14th or lower. While, under normal circumstances, you wouldn’t think that it would be possible… it seems that Gardner is struggling majorly here. Who knows how it will end?

With 9 laps to go, DiGiannantonio is in 1st, followed by R. Fernandez, A. Fernandez, Vierge and Canet. Gardner is in 11th.

In the middle of the grid, Gardner is beginning to get into some tussles with Nagashima and Luthi. This is Luthi’s final season in racing.

Hector Garzo has also faced his 11th DNF of the season with 5 laps to go.

The action has slowed down, with the exception of R. Fernandez overtaking DiGiannantonio.

And, with little to no effort, Raul Fernandez takes the race win! But because Gardner finishes in the top 13, he is World Champion!
Congratulations to World Champion Remy Gardner!

What a way to end the season. Looking forward to seeing what comes next.
