The Aston Martin AMR23 becomes the 7th car to be revealed ahead of the 2023 Formula 1 season.

The AMR23 was launched in an event at the team’s new factory in Silverstone, which was hosted by Rachel Brookes.

Aston Martin are the 7th team to have revealed their 2023 car, following McLaren’s MCL60 unveiling earlier this evening.

This is the third Aston Martin car since their return in 2021, having previously been absent from F1 since 1960. It will be driven by Lance Stroll and new teammate Fernando Alonso, who replaces the retiring Sebastian Vettel.

Aston Martin’s Technical Director Dan Fallows described the design of the car as being “without compromise”. He added that the team’s focus is “on delivering an ambitious yet efficient programme of updates for the first race and across the remainder of the season.”

Fernando Alonso moves to Aston Martin this season from Alpine, and had said he was “pleasantly surprised” when sampling last year’s car. He added that he always “could see the ambition that shines bright at AMF1. And, as we launch the car in this brand-new factory, I think everyone can now see the scale of the ambition and determination at the heart of this organisation”.

The team is moving into a new factory this year. Owner Lawrence Stroll describes as being “more than just a serious statement of intent.”

“In the past year, we have demonstrated the determination and belief needed to move forward and we have constructed a brand-new car to match our vision and ambition.”

Aston Martin finished last season in 7th place, only missing out on 6th to Alfa Romeo via countback.

Ferrari are the next team to reveal their 2023 challenger, unveiling the SF-23 tomorrow.
