Lydden Hill will host the last 2 events of the season in November and December. No other circuits were able to host the series in 2020.
Lydden Hill Racing Circuit will host the remaining rounds of the 2020 5 Nations British Rallycross Championship. The new dates are November 7th/8th and December 19th though the current schedule including which classes will run is undecided. The Supercar class is expected to host one round per weekend. Support classes may have a double header event in November. The December meeting will be held over a single day which has been a regular occurence in previous seasons.
Lydden Hill was the only English circuit available to host the series with Croft unable to host an event this year. The Kent track held the only British Rallycross event so far in 2020 back in August. Rounds in Scotland and Wales were due to take place in September and October though both have been postponed.
In anticipation of tightening restrictions last month, Knockhill’s round was pushed back. The Fife circuit is still expected to hold the finale of the BTRDA rallycross season in late October. Welsh restrictions have made it impossible for any race meetings to be held in the country. Pembrey abandoned its 2020 schedule last week, though the BRX round was not officially cancelled. Mondello was due to host the final event in the revised calendar. This seems to have been cancelled due to current travel constraints. Just 3 Irish based competitors joined the 70 car grid in August. With each of these circuits unable to host races it meant Lydden was the only circuit left to run an event. Blyton Park, the only other active English rallycross circuit is not able to host Supercar races and was ruled out.
Mark Donnelly leads the championship on maximum points after his win on debut. Reigning champion, Julian Godfrey is just 1 point back on 13. 12 Supercars entered the event with 10 making the semi-finals after both Xite cars dropped out due to a fire and disqualification respectively.
