Ginetta Junior Winter Series Champion Stuart Middleton is preparing to replicate that success in the main thing this season, continuing in the Ginetta Junior Championship with Douglas Motorsport.
The sixteen year old is already one of the most successful Ginetta Junior Scholarship winners of all time, and Douglas Motorsport owner, Wayne Douglas, is confident there’s more to come.
“He has an incredible debut season and his performance at the winter series was outstanding. There’s no doubt he’s a contender for the championship.”
The “incredible” debut season last year included points in all but two of the races and three podium finishes. Middleton finished runner up in the rookie cup and seventh overall.
Then came triumph in the winter series, with a hat trick of wins in the first day enough to claim the title.
Now the overall championship is on the teenager’s to-do list.
“My debut season in cars was almost perfect,” said Middleton. “Without a doubt, my main objectives for 2016 are to continue to improve my driving skills and win the 2016 Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship.”
Middleton came to Ginetta Junior through the scholarship and his success has “proven the success of the Ginetta Junior Scholarship”, according to championship manager, Ashley Gallagher. Hopefully they’ll be plenty more young drivers coming through it with as much talent as Middleton.
