Neate takes third Honda driver

Andy Neate will be hopping into the third Honda drive for the 2016 BTCC season. The experienced driver will be partnering current champion Gordon Shedden and triple champion Matt Neal.

Team Dynamics announced at the end of last season that they would have a third car license for their 2016 campaign, and fans have been speculating who would get the drive ever since. One candidate who seemed likely to take the seat was Jack Clarke, the team’s development driver, but Neate’s experience in the BTCC persuaded the team to choose him.

“Andy joins the Honda works team with plenty of experience to build on and a hunger for podium places, which is just what we are after,” James Rodgers, Team Manager at Team Dynamics, explained.

“Like Matt, I’ve been involved with multiple teams in British Touring Cars and so bring with me a wealth of understanding and familiarity of the championship,” said Neate.

Those teams include West Surrey Racing in 2010, and MG KX Momentum Racing in 2012.

“The car looked epic last year and I am sure this year will be no different,” he said. “I can’t wait to get behind the wheel and begin to support Honda in achieving back to back manufacturer’s championships, and of course be challenging for those hard fought podiums.”
