Petru Florescu will compete in his second Ford MSA Formula with Carlin. The Romanian racer raced for the top team in 2015, scoring multiple top ten finishes over the first MSA Formula season.
Now he’s aiming to fight at the top.
“I am happy to be able to stay with Carlin for a second season in the Ford MSA Formula,” said Florescu. “I learned a lot last year and I am eager to fight for the top spots in the series this year.”
Florescu has some new team mates to compete alongside. This year Carlin will be racing a four car squad and the Romanian driver will be sharing a garage with the already announced Max Fewtresll, James Pull, and Devlin De Francesco.
Florescu graduated to the Ford MSA Formula after joining the Carlin Academy. Last season, he finished eleventh in the championship, with a best finish of fourth place at Croft.
“I’m pleased to have Petru with us for another season in the Ford MSA Formula Championship,” said Trevor Carlin.
“He is a great driver to work with and has developed extremely well within the team. Petru always works hard with his engineer and I have no doubt that this season will see him fighting up there because we’ve seen the determination he has ever since he joined the Carlin Academy with us two years ago. We’re looking forward to going into the season next month with our strong four car line up.”
