Middleton and Wooder come out on top at Thruxton

Stuart Middleton and Dave Wooder managed to come out on top of the two action packed Ginetta Junior races at Thruxton. Middleton now leads the championship by ten points to Wooder.

It was Seb Perez at the front of the grid for the first race, after qualifying 0.001 seconds faster than Middleton’s time. The JHR driver pulled away from the start with a strong get away, but couldn’t shake Middleton, Tregurtha, and Hornby, who started second, third, and fourth.

In the fierce battle, Perez and Hornby came together, the contact sending Hornby down the standings. A penalty for Perez put the pole sitter out of the battle at the sharp end of the field.

Whilst Tregurtha and Middleton were left in their own battle over the top spot, the third step of the podium was still up for grabs. Dave Wooder, Seb Priaulx, and Cameron Roberts all fancied the final podium position, but it was Wooder who came out on top.

After much swapping places, Middleton managed to put and keep Tregurtha behind him, finishing on top.

The second race saw the battle at the top again. After an early safety car, it was Tregurtha, Middleton, Brown, and Wooder all battling for the top of the standings. Contact took Middleton out of the fight, but the three-way battle continued until the end of the race. In a dash for the flag, Wooder managed to keep Tregurtha and Brown behind him to take his first Ginetta Junior win.
