Stronger regulations concerning driving standards

TOCA have strengthened the driving standards regulations today, following a chaotic, crash-filled weekend at Snetterton.

Race bans can now be handed to drivers whose driving standard has been “unacceptable”.

The Championship Sporting Regulation 4.4.5 states:

“Andy driver who, in the opinion of the BTCC Clerk and the Administrator has failed to exercise an acceptable standard of driving may be excluded from participation in the next available race or races or Championship meeting.”

The stronger regulations come after many complained about the actions of some drivers at Snetterton, where a multi-car crash at the beginning of the race took a number of drivers out of the race and almost seriously injured a camera man.

The amendment is implemented with immediate effect.
