After being confirmed as a MS Amlin Andretti driver for season three, Antonio Felix da Costa is glad to finally start work with the new team. The Portuguese driver tested at Donington Park this week with the American team, along with new team mate Robin Frijns.
“The first three days of work with a new team was very good,” da Costa told Overtake Motorsport. “Obviously it was announced a few weeks ago and it’s good to finally get to work.”
Da Costa’s fastest time of the three day test was a 1:30.769 set on the final day of testing. . He classified twelfth over the entire three days, and but admitted there’s still room for improvement.
“[It’s] hard to say where we are at the moment. I feel like we’re ok – not the strongest at the moment, but [there’s] margin to improve and let’s see where we are.”
It will be impossible to know just how everybody at testing will do in the season until the Formula E circus heads to Hong Kong for the start of the season, but Da Costa is so far happy with his new team.
“The car feels ok,” he said. “A very good combination on the technical team between Americans and Europeans so I’m very happy with the technical team behind me.”
The Portuguese driver did manage to end the three day test faster than team mate Frijns, who only came fifteenth in the overall classification with a 1:31.183.
