Clio series champion Dorlin aiming for Clio Cup seat

James Dorlin is aiming for a Clio Cup seat with Westbourne next season. The seventeen year old, who raced for the team last season in the club level Michelin Clio Series, tested last week at Snetterton, a prize for winning the club-level championship.

This was Dorlin’s first test “in anger” in a Clio Cup car and, though the machine needed some getting used to, he said he felt right at home in the senior series car.
“There’s the switch from a sequential to a paddleshift gear system to get used to and the brakes in the latest-spec car are also different,” Dorlin said. “No servo means you need to treat them slightly differently. But I felt right at home and Renault Sport UK couldn’t have been more supportive.”

The seventeen year old has already placed an order for the Clio Cup car and aims to join the championship next season with Westbourne. He plans one more run in the car before Christmas.

More news is expected soon.
