Mike Epps has re-signed for Team HARD for the 2017 British Touring Car Championship. Epps is the second driver to sign for the new season, after Will Burns was announced earlier this month.
Epps will run for a second consecutive season, after joining the championship in 2015. The Hemel Hempstead driver raced with the team last season in his debut year, and took a number of Jack Sears Trophy wins.
Last season, he was only able to finish 24th in the championship, but this year he has his sights set higher.
“Tony [Gilham] has essentially opened the door for me to race in a championship I once never really considered as a possibility,” said Epps. “Now we are set for a year number two and I think we have a good chance to make a real impact.
“As anyone would expect, with a small budget and as part of one of the younger teams on the grid in my rookie season, there have been many challenges and I’m expecting there to be plenty more ahead too. The ingredients are there though; with the new cars and more people onboard I think we should be properly in the mix this time. We definitely outdid out equiptment this year.”
The team is hoping to build on Epps’ rookie season next year, and give the twenty-four year old they say he hopes to deserve.
