Motorbase gets shredded for 2017

Mat Jackson will continue to race with Motorbase Performance in 2017, but his car will look a little different next season. The team have secured a multi-year title sponsorship deal with Nestle Shredded Wheat.

2016 was the team’s most successful season to date, with both the Independent Teams’ and Independent Drivers’ championship. Though the Independent Driver champion, Andy Jordan, has switched team, Jackson remains at the team for his eighth consecutive season for the Kent based squad. His 2017 race number will be #3.

“As reigning Independent Champions, we’re looking forward to the challenge of defending out crown,” said Team Principal David Bartrum. “We’re also very happy to announce that Mat will continue to spearhead our 2017 campaign. After having come so close tot he overall drivers’ title last season, we also have our eyes on the overall prize. Mat’s pace is unquestionable and he has shown great consistency in recent years. He is a real asset to the team and the perfect brand ambassador for Shredded Wheat.”

It will be difficult to miss the Motorbase car next season, with the striking yellow and red livery – taking on the Shredded Wheat colours – sure to stand out on the track. Bartrum believes “the BTCC package offers them [Shredded Wheat] a fantastic platform to reach their target audience.”

Two more drivers are expected to be announced in January at the Autosport Show, as the team steps up to a three car team next season.
