SWB back for 2017

SWB Motorsport will return to the British Formula 4 grid having sat the 2016 season out. The Daventry based team took two overall podiums in their debut season with Rafael Martins.

Having already competed in the Formula Ford and Formula Renault championships, SWB joined the British F4 championship in 2015. Three drivers raced for the team in their debut year, but only Martins remained with the team throughout all ten rounds. The rookie driver took 12 rookie podiums and two overall third places.

After taking 2016 out, the team are back and hoping for big things.

“2016 has been a busy year for us, albeit in a slightly different field, but now that business is up and running successfully, we are ready to turn our attentions to racing,” said boss Simon Baldry. “We have the same top quality personnel; a very tightly knit and skilled set of lads and lasses and driver coaches who possess a wealth of experience.”

SWB will run two cars next season, but are yet to secure drivers for the campaign. The team boasts plenty of in house faculties like coaches and a sim engineer to help develop young drivers.

“We had a great year in 2015 in Ford MSA Formula, following our success in Formula Ford and Formula Renault. Therefore, we are looking for the best drivers to put us at the front again.

“We have copious amounts of data at our disposal. We’ve kept our hand in over the 2016 British F4 season to ensure we didn’t fall behind other teams and to prevent us from going into 2017 blind. We’re ready to hit the ground running.”

Testing begins at the start of February.
