JamSport announce next Clio Cup Junior driver

Thirteen year old Gus Burton joins Bradley Burns at JamSport’s UK Clio Cup Junior team.

Burton will make the step up from car racing, and hopes the new junior championship will help him progress in his motorsport career.

2017 will see the inaugural Clio Cup Junior championship, but the JamSport name has already found success in the senior series, helping Ant Whorton-Eales to take the title last season. That success was one of the draws for Burton.

“I have joined a top team in JamSport to give me the best chance of success and I have already had some test days in my new car, which was delivered last month,” he said. “The sequential gearbox is unbelievably efficient and the handling is true and balanced. I love driving it.”

The Colchester born teenager will be 14 – the minimum age for the new junior series – by the time the championship starts in June.
