JamSport pair up Fiesta rivals for Clio Cup Junior campaign

Harry Gooding will partner his Fiesta Junior rival as he switches to the Renault Clio Cup Junior championship this season.

The Fiesta Junior champion will continue with JamSport, who helped him to six race wins and six further podiums last season.

“When I first drove the UK Clio Cup Junior car towards the end of last year I immediately knew where I wanted to be for 2017,” said the youngest Fiesta champion to date.

“It gives you loads of confidence to go looking for new limits and it’s an opportunity to move into much more modern machinery with all the engineering expertise that Renault Sport is famous for.”

Gooding is hoping to move into the senior Clio Cup series in the future, making the junior championship the perfect place to be as the cars are almost identical. The 15-year-old is attracted to the Clio Cup by the links to the British Touring Car Championship.

JamSport have already announced Bradley Burns as part of their Clio Cup Junior team. Burns was Gooding’s main rival last season, which sets up an interesting battle between the teammates in 2017.

“We are delighted to be working with Harry again and to be bringing him into our line-up for the new UK Clio Cup Junior Championship,” said team principal Jamie Going. “We’re really proud of our reputation for nurturing young talent and the results we achieved with hm in 2016. It’ll be fascinating seeing how Harry and Bradley – who were very closely matched in 2016 – work together as JamSport teammates in 2017.”
