THE FIA FORMULA 3 NEWLY CROWNED CHAMPION OSCAR PIASTRI CONTINUES TO DRIVE FOR PREMA  AS HE MAKES HIS FIRST DEBUT IN FORMULA 2 NEXT YEAR.

The Australian driver, Oscar Piastri, will be driving for the Prema Racing team next year in F2 as he gained a seat from his performances last season in FIA F3 as their newly crowned champion.

Prema’s announcement to take the 19 years old driver excites both sides as the team expects him to create another successful year with them.

Oscar Piastri earned the Italian team’s trust and interest to continue their relationship to a higher series that’s a step closer to F1. He proves them by collecting two wins and six podiums with consistent performance.

Team Principal Rene Rosin thinks that he’s the most compatible driver for them to fill in their next season’s seat by his statement that declares how Prema has found something that they could have developed in him.

“We are delighted to welcome Oscar to our FIA Formula 2 team,” quoted by Team Principal Rene Rosin.

“Not only he is a talented racer with outstanding speed skills. He has a clear understanding of the complexities of today’s motorsports,  and he is extremely adaptable.”

Oscar Piastri has proved an impressive performance knowing him as a former champion of Formula Renault in 2019 and stepped up his game to join FIA F3 in the next following year. The Australian racing driver gained another title from his first year in the Formula 3 series as a rookie, and that’s a massive success story that executes Prema’s decision.

“We had a very successful 2020 season, winning the Formula 3 championship together, and I’m hoping for another successful year with them.” Stated Oscar Piastri in his comments from the announcement.

“Prema has proven to be the team to beat once again in F2 this year, so I’m extremely happy to be moving into the championship with them. I’m very grateful to stay a part of the Prema family, and I’m looking forward to plenty more pizza and pasta!”

The new 2021 season from FIA F2 will be Oscar’s first debut on the series, and he has expected more surprises coming from him and the team. The prospects continue to run as Oscar Piastri will be racing underway with the Prema Racing team on their first calendar in Spain.
