Dennis Hauger extended his championship lead after claiming his third win in the last race of the Hungarian Grand Prix, beating Arthur Leclerc in second.
The 18-year-old driver snatched the race lead from his teammate Arthur Leclerc who started Race 2 on pole position in just nine laps into the race.
The session started under the safety car due to the weather condition in Budapest as it got deployed because of the incident between MP Motorsport’s Victor Martins and HWA Racelab’s Oliver Rasmussen.
The yellow flag ended on lap 4, with Arthur Leclerc holding on to the first place before Hauger hunts him down in order to take the lead.
Hauger finds an opportunity to overtake the Monegasque driver from the first place to drop one place behind him as Hauger soon conquered the wet race.
Arthur Leclerc remained to stay in the second place, with a consistent pack of the Trident drivers who finished in a well-run order.
Jack Doohan was third fastest from the race, securing his third podium of the season as he returned to second in the championship standings.
His teammates David Schumacher and Clement Novalak joined the Australian driver in fourth and fifth fastest, rounding out the top five from the 20 laps long race.
Alexander Smolyar was in sixth fastest for ART Grand Prix, ahead of his teammate Frederik Vesti in seventh and PREMA Racing’s Olli Caldwell in the eighth position.
The Charouz Racing drivers Enzo Fittipaldi and Logan Sargeant completed the race in ninth and tenth fastest, respectively, as the third pair of teammates to finish inside the top 10 in today’s race.
The FIA Formula 3 championship will return at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit from 27-29 August, supporting the Belgian Grand Prix.
