Championship leader Dennis Hauger claims the fourth win of the season as he bolts into the lead from pole, with an unexpected turn of the podium finishers in Race 3.
Hauger remains consistent during the race as Victor Martins made contact with David Schumacher, dragging the German driver out from the race that leaves an advantage for Trident’s Clement Novalak and ART’s Alexander Smolyar in just three laps before the session ends.
The Dane was running comfortably, leading the pack by more than five seconds gap to collect all important points with a dominant drive.
Schumacher’s teammate, Clement Novalak, quickly stepped up for him in his Trident, finishing second overall after diving past Martins with ART’s Alexander Smolyar in third.
Jack Doohan made it to fourth as the second Trident’s driver to finish inside the top 5 ahead of MP Motorsport’s Caio Collet as Charouz Racing’s Logan Sargeant finished one place behind him.
Jak Crawford ended the race in seventh for Hitech with ART’s Frederik Vesti in eighth, after hunting the Race 1 winner Arthur Leclerc in ninth for PREMA Racing.
Martins was extremely close to be taking his second podium of the weekend in MP Motorsport’s home soil before he was handed a 10 seconds penalty that puts him in tenth place, receiving the tiniest point from Race 3 as Schumacher dropped the back of the grid in 30th.
With Hauger winning the final race of round six, he strengthened the championship lead with 31 points added to him, keeping Jack Doohan at a safe distance for now.
The final reveal of the FIA Formula 3 2021 champion will be declared on the final round of the season, which will be held in Sochi on September 24-26.
