BTCC Finale: Proctor takes pole in BTC Racing 1-2

Senna Proctor took the final pole position of the year by beating his teammate Josh Cook by just 0.011s at the Brands Hatch GP circuit.

The FK8 Honda Civic was the car to have in qualifying with teammates Dan Rowbottom and Gordon Shedden making it an all Civic front four.

Cook had held the top spot for most of the session until Proctor beat him on his final flying lap.

It is Proctor’s second pole of the year following on from Oulton Park.

Championship leader Ash Sutton qualified sixth with fellow contenders Colin Turkington, Tom Ingram and Jake Hill will start the first race tomorrow in 8th, 13th and 11th respectively.

Going into the weekend with a 32-point lead over Turkington, Sutton has put himself into prime position to take his third title in five years.

Dan Lloyd’s good run of form carried on after qualifying fifth with Aiden Moffat in seventh, Stephen Jelley in ninth and Tom Chilton in 10th.
