Josh Cook took the first victory of the day in a BTC Racing 1-2 with Ash Sutton increasing his championship lead.

Senna Proctor started well staying ahead of teammate Cook but Cook was able to get past at Druids.

Sutton stayed in sixth however championship contender Colin Turkington jumped up to seventh and put pressure on the Infiniti driver almost instantly.

Andy Neate, at his final BTCC event, was spun out by Jade Edwards at Druids and was beached in the gravel therefore bringing out the Safety Car.

Cook restarted well staying ahead of Proctor, Gordon Shedden and Dan Lloyd.

The race was settled at the front with the main battle between championship contenders Jake Hill and Tom Ingram in 13th and 14th respectively.

Hill and Ingram’s epic battle continued despite contact between top two drivers at Clearways but Hill, in the end, was able to stay ahead at the line.

Cook took the win ahead of teammate Proctor and were joined on the podium by Shedden.

Lloyd finished a well deserved fourth ahead of Rowbottom.

Championship leader Sutton finished in sixth and extended his lead in the championship standings after finishing just ahead of Colin Turkington in seventh.

With both Hill and Ingram finishing outside of the top 10, it means that neither driver can now win the championship.
