Hitech’s rookie Isack Hadjar ended the third-morning session fastest with an impressive new record of 1:47.247, beating PREMA Racing’s Jak Crawford in second.
The rookie weekend has been successful so far, as he remained the only driver to complete four sessions inside the top five.
Hadjar quickly takes the lead of the timesheets within 30 minutes into the session, setting a more competitive barrier by 0.381 of a second faster than Crawford.
Gregoire Saucy made it to third for ART Grand Prix after a promising performance on Day 2 in fourth fastest on both sessions, improving his best lap time.
MP Motorsport’s Caio Collet was fourth fastest ahead of his teammate, Alexander Smolyar in fifth, and Campos Racing David Vidales in sixth fastest.
Victor Martins closed the session in seventh fastest in the second ART car, only two-tenths of a second faster than Hitech’s Kaylen Frederick.
Zak O’Sullivan finished in ninth fastest for Carlin, ahead of Trident’s Roman Stanek, who completed the top ten.
The last session of the pre-season test in Bahrain will continue at 14.30 local times.
