PREMA Racing’s Oliver Bearman showed his potential in the competitive afternoon session of the in-season testing on Day 1 by setting an unrivalled time of 1:33.009 ahead of two rookies.
Bearman became the second PREMA Racing driver to lead the session today as his teammate Arthur Leclerc has topped the windy morning session with a 1:33.009 as the times edged below 1m 35s for the first time in Jerez.
Campos Racing’s newest addition Josep Maria Marti was the next quickest driver as he claimed P2 with a 0.666s gap to Bearman ahead of his fellow rookie Zane Maloney in third for Trident.
Feature Race winner Victor Martins completed the three-hour session in fourth ahead of Arthur Leclerc in fifth for the second PREMA Racing car.
Martins’ teammate Juan Manuel Correa finished sixth fastest in the final ten minutes of the session, beating another PREMA Racing rookie Jak Crawford in seventh and Oliver Rasmussen in eighth as he debuted with Trident.
Gregoire Saucy brings his ART to ninth ahead of Campos Racing’s duo David Vidales and Hunter Yeany in tenth and eleventh fastest, respectively.
The final day of the in-season testing in Jerez will begin at 9 AM local times in Spain.
