MP Motorsport’s Kush Maini leads the Free Practice session for the first time in Silverstone, as his teammate Caio Collet was only 0.35s shy from the Indian driver’s time.
In the final two minutes of the session opener, Collet initially went quickest before Maini stormed off into the lead with an unrivaled time of 1:44.661, which puts the Brazilian driver to second, ahead of Hitech’s Kaylen Frederick in third fastest.
The top five was almost exclusive to the MP Motorsport and Hitech pairings, but Roman Stanek managed to place his Trident in fourth; as the highest placed rookie at the moment, Isack Hadjar rounded out the top five, only 0.006s away from Stanek.
Further down, championship leader Victor Martins completed the 45 minutes long session in sixth for ART Grand Prix, ahead of Carlin’s Zak O’Sullivan in seventh and the Trident duo Zane Maloney and Jonny Edgar in eighth and ninth, respectively.
Another pairing came from Campos Racing, as Josep Maria Marti completed the top ten from the session ahead of his teammate Hunter Yeany in 11th.
The FIA Formula 3 will return to action for the qualifying session at 15:00 local times in the UK.
