Campos Racing’s Arvid Lindblad won Formula 2’s sprint race at the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
The Red Bull junior, who will step up to F1 with Racing Bulls next season, kept AIX Racing’s Joshua Duerksen at bay to secure his third triumph of the campaign while his team-mate Nikola Tsolov scored his first podium.
Lindblad converted reversed-grid pole into the lead ahead of Duerksen, while Victor Martins slipped from third to sixth on the opening lap. There was little to separate the front two when a virtual safety car period was declared on lap eight, when John Bennett retired with an engine issue.
Duerksen initially kept Lindblad in his sights when the track returned to green, but then ran wide and slipped back by one second. Lindlad edged further clear and managed a further VSC period, and after backing on late on took the chequered flag with a 0.9s winning margin..
Tsolov finished almost 9s behind Duerksen in third, while Dino Beganovic passed Oliver Goethe with six laps to go to take fourth.
Jak Crawford made late progress past Gabriele Mini, Alex Dunne and Martins to grab sixth despite losing part of his front wing after making contact with the latter. Mini became airborne on a kerb while battling Crawford and came home ninth behind Martins and Dunne, while Roman Stanek beat 2025 champion Leonardo Fornaroli to 10th.
