Motor Sport Association chairman Alan Gow is set to retire from the role at the end of the year.
The 62-year-old took over the role at the start of 2006 from John Grant, who completed three years in the job. By the time Gow retires, he will have spent about four times as long in the job as Grant, but won’t continue after his third term in office.
The MSA have wasted no time in beginning to process to decide upon Gow’s successor, and an announcement is expected to be made later this year.
It’s understood Gow will continue his role as series director of the British Touring Car Championship and as president of the FIA’s touring car commission.
